System of a Down (also known as System or more commonly by its acronym, SOAD) is a band metal alternative Armenian descent formed in Glendale, California, in 1995. At first they called Soil, but then adopted the name System of a Down inspired by the poem Victims of a Down, written by guitarist Daron Malakian. They are famous for performing songs whose lyrics are protestingof abuse child, violence, war, pornography, violent and sexist, the predominance of material interests insociety, social inequalities, physical and ideological intolerance and discrimination, among others.
It is composed of Serj Tankian (composition, vocals, keyboards and occasionally guitar), Daron Malakian (composition, guitar and vocals), Shavo Odadjian (bass) and John Dolmayan (drums).
In their five albums released to date, System of a Down uses a wide range of instruments, including baritone electric guitars, to an empty bottle that serves as a tool (in the 'Psycho' of Toxicity), [citation needed] mandolins electric sitars, 12-string classical guitars (soprano) and other instruments of Asia. His most notable influences from bands beginning with the heavy metal. They also had influences from genres such as jazz fusion, folk, hard rock, psychedelic rock, funk, classic rock, blues and industrial. They also have political influence, as reflected in his speeches against the American system, the social unconscious and abuse of power. This social and musical formula has resulted from the publication of his first album (in 1998), results from both the public good, that made System of a Down a platinum disc as apart music critics. Was named best alternative band in 2005 at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Lisbon.

Steal This Album! is the third album of Armenian-American group metal System of a Down, released on November 26, 2002 by American Recordings and Columbia. The album is a collection of unreleased material and songs discarded in Toxicity sessions that someone hung on the Internet with the title of Toxicity II. The group, to discover this "diskpirate" decided to re-record in the studio.
Despite the tremendous success with Toxicity, months and days before the release of this album were quite indifferent. The fact that the public and the critics thought they were rare ordiscards made that there is not much excitement with the release of Steal This Album!.

System of a Down - Mezmerize

Mezmerize is the fourth album by System of a Down and the first part of the double album Mezmerize / Hypnotize. It was released on May 16, 2005, six months before Hypnotize. It was releasedmarket by American Recordings and Columbia Records in the United States by Columbia Records in Europe and in Japan by Sony Music Entertainment Japan.
Daron Malakian, singer Serj Tankian, bassist Shavo Odadjian and drummer John Dolmayan recorded over 30 tracks for Mezmerize / Hypnotize between May and December 2004 in-house study by the producer Rick Rubin has Lauren Canyon, California. The album's title is based on the lyrics of the song Hypnotize, the self-titled album to come out 6 months later. The most important of the incursion is the biggest voice of guitarist Malakian and new oriental rhythms (influenced by the Armenian and Lebanese origin components SOAD).

Hypnotize is the fifth album by System Of A Down and the second party completes the double album Mezmerize / Hypnotize. It was released on November 22, 2005 by American Recordings, Columbia Records, six months after the release of Mezmerize.
As the first part, Mezmerize, was very successful and reached number 1 in several countries, so that the band would become one of the few to achieve two number 1 albums in one year.

The album was certified gold and platinum by RIAA on December 13, 2005, and ended that year in the first place in Billboard. It is the first album of System Of A Down where there are no acoustic guitars.
